MINUTES OF WALCOTT ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD ON 19TH MAY 2022 AT ST OSWALD’S CHURCH. 
 
Present:     PC Simon Grantham (Chair), PC Richard Scarborough (Vice Chair), PC Sarah Lawrence, PC Jackie Morris, PC Jonathan Pearson, PC Becky Shaw, PC Graham Black.  
 
Also present:  CC Rob Kendrick, DC Gill Ogden, Darren Brewin, Peter Martin, T. Martin (Clerk). 
 
1.    Apologies for Absence.

2.    Notes of the AGM meeting held on 9th May 2019.  

2.1 The notes were agreed and signed off as minutes.
 
3.    Any matters arising from the above.

4.    Chairman’s report

Simon Grantham, Chair of the Parish Council read a report. Five buildings have been completed on the High Street with three more under construction. There has been a massive upheaval in the village with the road closure for the construction of a new footpath and cycleway on the road from Walcott to Billinghay. The school has taken up the PC’s offer of £3000 towards the resurfacing of the playground. The nursery reports increasing numbers after a lull last year. Dyson generously provided the gates at each end of the village to help slow down the traffic travelling through the village.

5. County Councillors report.  

The County Councillor read a report. The County Council continues to provide key services such as adult care and children’s services. LCC received a positive Ofsted report for their children’s services. LCC are taking part in the governments holidays activities and food programme supporting families in the holidays. LCC provided grants for 35 eligible homeowners to safeguard their properties against flooding. Cllr Kendrick visited the Fire Training Centre at Waddington which is nationally recognised as being one of the best in the country. 
 
6.District Councillor report.  

DC Gill Ogden read her report. Lafford homes continue to pay their way not using public’s money but are now self funding. Work is continuing on Sleaford High Street to bring it back to the thriving centre it once was. New improvements were made to Holdingham roundabout and new lights are helping the traffic flow. New workshops have been built in North Hykeham for smaller growing businesses and Lafford Field is being worked on to bring more wildlife, flowers, insects etc. into the area.
 
7. Walcott Church report. 

Peter Martin read a report for the church. The current account is in the black. Coffee mornings are well attended and the Wellbeing Walk finishes there each time it meets. Church services are held once a month with 12/15 people attending. Village lunches held in the hall have resumed with around 30/40 people attending and the church is taking part in the Village Hall Platinum Jubilee celebrations. 
 
8.Walcott Village Hall report. 

Darren Brewin read a report for the Village Hal Committee. New fencing has been put up and Wifi and CCTV has been fitted with the help of covid grants. The hall has been repainted and it has been well used in the past year. The committee is hoping to organise quiz nights and entertainment later on in the year.
